Parking is on-road, but there aren’t any parking restrictions.
It is a relatively quiet residential area and so you should be able to park within about 50m or so of the property. It gets a quite busy just before 4pm weekdays whilst parents pick up their children from a nearby school and again at around 12:30pm on Saturday, but things are normally quiet again after 20 minutes or so.

Unfortunately we do not have disabled access and our property is not suitable for those with reduced mobility or those that use walking aids or require assistance. There are external steps to all rooms and varied ground surfaces including a granite cobble courtyard.

Our rooms and premises are Smoke free and we do not allow smoking. There is a 2 night supplement fine for smoking in rooms since it takes days and much effort to eradicate the smell. We also do not allow the use of any strong smelling products for example TCP disinfectant and its use will incur the same fine for the same reason.

All of our rooms are en-suite. The Superior rooms have Kingsize beds and Power Showers. 

Standard rooms have double beds and one side of the bed is against the wall. They have ensuite wet-rooms.

None of our rooms are ‘large’ but they are well designed finished to a very high standard with many amenities. 

Standard rooms are entered from a private Courtyard.  The Superior Rooms have a bit more room and entered from a lobby area. We have one Superior Kingsize Room with ensuite Bathroom.

Bedroom Linen is provided with Towels, Hairdryer, Make-up mirror, microwave, Kettle, Mini-fridge with fresh milk, Coffee, Tea, Sugar sachets, crockery and cutlery, Spa quality combined Hair & Body wash, iron & ironing board, desk, lamp & desk chair with fast free wifi, Multi-channel Wall mounted TV with casting ability. Some guests may wish to bring their own particular brand of hair shampoo, conditioner and a electric Shaver/Toothbrush adapter if required.

We take payment from the card you supplied two days before your arrival date. This is slightly different at Christmas, Bank Holidays and for some multi-room bookings that include a Saturday.

You can amend or cancel your reservation two clear days before your arrival date.

Our rooms are usually ready from 3pm to allow for deep cleaning. We will be delighted to try to accommodate your early arrival if possible. Please call in advance to enquire but it is unlikely this will be possible before 2pm.

If we can’t accommodate your early check-in, we can offer you the opportunity to drop you bags off earlier. Unfortunately, we don’t have any changing or toilet facilities for you to use other than those in your room which won’t be available for you until your room is ready.

Although we do not have a formal check-in, the entry codes do allow some flexibility. However, we do suggest that our guests have visited their rooms by 9pm to familiarise themselves with its location and check that the codes work to their satisfaction, since assistance after 9pm is limited.

Your arrivals after 9pm needs to be pre-arranged with us at the property in advance or it will be considered a ‘no-show’ & cancellation charges will apply and your reservation will be cancelled.

Ferndale Mews is in a quiet residential area and is most suitable for those who favour a quiet environment.

We accept children from the age of 12. Please note that the rooms are for a maximum of two people and we do not have any extra beds. Two of the Superior Rooms can be joined together to form a two-bedroom, two bathroom apartment.

We are normally open at Christmas time although we do not provide Continental Breakfast. We normally put availability on our website mid-August and the availability is normally for 3 or more nights. Please note that payments for Christmas bookings are taken on the 1st December and not amendable or refundable.

We regret no pets are allowed.

We respectfully request that you depart from your room before 10am week days and 11am weekends on the day of your departure. There’s no need to formally Check-Out.

Ferndale Mews is in one of the best areas in Bristol but it is still wise to not leave valuables or luggage on display in a parked car.

Check out are 10am mon-fri, 11am sat & sun.

Late Check-Out’s are sometimes available but need to be booked in advanced with the original booking. The cost is £20 to extend your stay until 1pm mon-fri, 2pm sat & sun. Please enquire at the time you make your reservation.

We would like to text you confirmation of your reservation,  and on the day of your arrival, let you know when your room is ready and text you your personal entry codes.

You are welcome to supply your email address. Your room number and codes will not be allocated until shortly before your arrival so it would be useful if you could call us before arrival.

We live at the property and if we are not here on your arrival we can always provide telephone support if you need it.

There is a small amount of hanging space in the top of wardrobes in the superior rooms, but just a simple hanging rail in the Standard Rooms. The rooms are not large and you may struggle on a long visit with a lot of luggage.

If your room is a little cool, please let us know so we can put the heating on for you. Just call us or send us a text.

Some parts of the property have substantial stone walls. Some smart phones allow you to turn on ‘call assist’ that uses our free wifi to support your telephones voice calls.

There is a vibrant village just 400m from Ferndale Mews with a good variety, though your choice of food will be limited after 10pm. The nearest pub is The Post Office Tavern just 180m away.

Continental Breakfast is £8 extra per person and consists of Granola, Yoghurt, Croissants and french pasties, Butter & Strawberry Jam and mini cheese which we place in your room before you arrive. Please let us know before your stay if you would like to order this so we can get the products for you. 

There is a fridge in your room which you are welcome to use.

We encourage our guests to book Taxi’s in advance from their own mobile phones. This allows them to receive confirmation of their bookings and often to receive a text message when the car has arrived outside the property, (ask for this).

Please note.

1. You will need to pre-book Taxi’s in advance, maybe day before, if you are travelling at peak times or have important appointments.
2. You will need to be alert, perhaps waiting in the street at the expected time. Not all Taxi’s will ring the gate bell and the gate bell may not be answered. The Taxi may leave without any further notice.
3. Allow plenty of time, Bristol’s traffic is slow at peak times.

Smoking and Vaping are banned from the premesis. Our rooms are fitted with extremely sensitive optical smoke detectors that are inter-linked. Should smoke be detected in one room the alarm will sound in multiple rooms and wake other guests. Occupants will be fined if it is detected that the room has been smoked in.
