Do we have to Check-Out on the day of departure?
There’s no need to formally Check Out, but please turn off your room lights and close your room door after you leave
Why do you ask for a mobile phone?
We would like to text you confirmation of your reservation, and on the day of your arrival, let you know when your room is ready and text you your personal entry codes.
Can I just supply an email address?
You are welcome to supply your email address. Your room number and codes will not be allocated until shortly before your arrival so it would be useful if you could call us before arrival.
How does Contact-free Check-in work?
We will text you your unique personalised codes just before your arrival.
Our key code systems continue to make it simple for you to access your rooms.
We live at the property and if we are not here on your arrival we can always provide telephone support if you need it.
If you have forgotten your mobile phone, please press the gate entry bell. This will connect you to our phone. You may need to answer some security questions to gain access if we are not at home.
With only a small number of guests, you are unlikely to come into close contact with others but please stay alert, follow the 2m distance rule and use the hand sanitiser from the stations.
What happens if I arrive and haven't got my entry codes?
It's worth checking your text messages.
This is a family home, so we're always on hand, or not far away, so you can call us, or press the gate entry bell to talk to us if you require any assistance.
How do I get in touch with owners if my phone’s battery has run out?
Press the gate entry bell which will connect to our phones wherever we are.
Can friends and family visit me at the property?
During this time we ask that only paying guests are allowed on the property.
Do you have wi-fi?
We have fast free wi-fi.
My room is a little cool/warm, what can i do?
If your room is a little cool, please let us know so we can put the heating on for you. Just call us or send us a text.
If your room is a little warm, you can turn down the heating controls in your room & bathroom radiator and open the window.
Is there a good telephone signal at the property?
Some parts of the property have substantial stone walls. Some smart phones allow you to turn on 'call assist' that uses our free wifi to support your telephones voice calls.
How far away is the nearest Pub, Cafe, Super market, take-aways & restaurant?
There is a vibrant village just 400m from Ferndale Mews with a good variety, though your choice of food will be limited after 10pm. The nearest pub is The Post Office Tavern just 180m away.
What does the Continental Breakfast consist of?
Unfortunately we are not offering Continental Breakfast at this time.
There is a fridge in your room which you are welcome to use.
How do I get a taxi from Ferndale Mews?
Eurotaxis claim to be the biggest operator in Bristol on 0333 666 6666 whilst Prestige Taxis is the closest on 0117 950 9999 and they have their offices just 400m away in the High Street in the village.

We are located in Westbury-on-Trym, our postcode is BS9 3BG
Can I 'Vap' in my room?
Smoking and Vaping are banned from the premisis. Our rooms are fitted with extremely sensitive optical smoke detectors that are inter-linked. Should smoke be detected in one room the alarm will sound in multiple rooms and wake other guests. Occupants will be fined if it is detected that the room has been smoked in.

Is there parking at the property?
The parking is on-road, but there aren’t any parking restrictions.
It is a relatively quiet residential area and so you should be able to park within about 50m or so of the property. It gets a little busier at 4pm whilst parents pick up their children from a nearby school.
What is the difference between a Standard and Superior Room?
All of our rooms are en-suite. The Standard rooms have en-suite wet rooms the Superior rooms have more traditional shower or bath rooms.
In a Standard room, one side of the bed is against the wall. The Superior Rooms have a little bit more room and entered from a lobby area.
When do you take payment?
Normally we take payment from the card you supplied two days before your arrival date. This is slightly different in December, Bank Holidays and for some multi-room bookings that include a Saturday. Please see the Terms & Conditions page.
What is your cancellation policy?
Normally* you can ammend or cancel your reservation two clear days before your arrival date.
For example, if you wanted to cancel or amend your reservation commencing on Monday as your arrival day, you would need to let us know by 23:59 on Friday. You are welcome to email us on email@example.com
If you cancel after two days before we will charge you the full price of your reservation.
*Please note; This is different in December, Bank Holidays and for some Multi-Room bookings that include a Saturday. Please see the Terms & Conditions page.
What is the earliest time we can Check-In?
Our rooms are usually ready from 4pm to allow for deep cleaning. We will be delighted to try to accommodate your early arrival if possible. Please call in advance to enquire.
What is the latest time we can Check-in?
Although we do not have a formal check-in, the entry codes do allow some flexibility. However, we do suggest that our guests have visited their rooms by 9pm to familiarise themselves with its location and check that the codes work to their satisfaction, since assistance after 9pm is limited.
Your arrivals after 9pm needs to be pre-arranged with us at the property in advance or it will be considered a ‘no-show’ & cancellation charges will apply and your reservation will be cancelled.
Why do you ask all guests to be particularly quiet after 10pm?
Ferndale Mews Bed and Breakfast is a Family home in a quiet residential area and is most suitable for those who favour a quiet environment.
Do you allow Hen or Stag Party Groups?
No we don’t allow these groups.
Do you accept children?
We accept children form the age of 12. Please note that the rooms are for a maximum of two people and we do not have any extra beds. Two of the Superior Rooms can be joined together to form a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment.
Are you open at Christmas time?
We are normally open at Christmas time although we do not provide Continental Breakfast. We normally put availability on our website mid August and the availability is normally for 3 or more nights. Please note that payments for Christmas bookings are taken on the 1st December and not ammendable or refundable. This year there will be no daily house keeping in line with our covid 19 policy.
Do you accept pets?
We regret no pets are allowed.
What time do we have to leave our room on the day of departure.
We respectfully request that you depart from your room before 10am week days and 11am weekends on the day of your departure. There’s no need to formally Check-Out.
