Spire Hospital

Spire Bristol Hospital offers high quality private hospital care to patients from the South West of England. There are over 80 single private rooms and 5 Theatres and is built in the hollow of an old Quary known as the Glen.

The Glen having being bombed in the war was turned into a post-war family day-out leisure destination with a huge dance hall made from old army huts that could cater for 5,000 people. In 1956 the Locarno ballroom opened and became a favourite place for Teddy boys to frequent. It then became an old time music hall, then Tiffany’s and is now the site of the Spire Hospital.

The Spire Hospital is about 1.5 miles away, about a 5 minute drive, outside of the morning rush hour.
